The Sunset Breezehouse home is designed to blur the boundary between interior and exterior. By borrowing space from the outdoors, the house feels larger than it is. The home is green in many ways.

Take Out by Klaus Aalto

Take Out designed by Klaus Aalto is a piece of storage furniture, which resembles a traditional chest of drawers with the exception that the drawers have been replaced by portable briefcases. This makes it possible for each briefcase to be taken to the next room or even on a longer trip. The piece of furniture consists of an outer shell made of MDF board, aluminum shelves, steel legs and plastic briefcases by Plasticase. The basic idea can be modified into various shapes and sizes.

Through the implementation of sustainable design and solar, geothermal, or wind generator equipment, the Glidehouse modular home provides owners with reduced, if not eliminated, utility bills. The Glidehouse could be situated in a rural area, and through the use of solar, geothermal or wind generating equipment, it would not need to be connected to electricity lines, therefore reducing the long term cost of ownership and widening the range of potential building sites.

Placentero is designed by Batti, a young Argentinean designer. The name of this new lounge chair comes from two words linked to the gestation period, “placenta” and “pleasure”. The Placentero chair swings in different comfortable positions supported by a 18kg counter weight in the bottom of the chair. The Outer Cover in plastic is reinforced with glass fiber and finished with coat-gel, which helps to erase all kind of scratches or hits using polish paste. Inside the designer chair features leather in four available colors.

The Toledo Museum of Art’s remarkable new Glass Pavilion is the first American project by architects Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa and their Tokyo firm, SANAA. The enormous sheets of glass needed for the pavilion were manufactured in Germany and molded in China in preparation for the Aug. 27 opening.

Inspired by the success of the Million Dollar Homepage and its clones, which appeared everywhere on the internet last year, some students from the Sandberg Institute have launched the Million Dollar Façade project. Instead of pixels, they plan to sell the tiles of a huge building located in the heart of Amsterdam. The project, called Advertising, has already attracted big companies like Nike and Apple. I guess we will soon see people selling the tiles of their homes.
