The All Terrain Cabin by Bark

All-Terrain-Cabin1.jpg

The All-Terrain Cabin designed by Bark is a 420 square foot and fully outfitted cabin for the 21st century. It is mobile and self-contained with a generator running on biodiesel and an “inverter” which changes DC into AC. Low-impact, smart, tough, cool, and all Canadian.

Based on the ISO container format, it can be transportable to any place in the world by train, truck, ship, plane, or helicopter. When it gets to its destination the contents won’t be unloaded, instead the entire shipment will unfold, deploy, and spread its wings to become the All Terrain Cabin.

great post. It is noteworthy that this concept was initiated 40 years ago by Jean Prouvé whose Maison Tropicale is exhibited in Paris now (after being in Niamey). Will the container be the future of architecture?
