Bike Lift in Trondheim Norway
An actual bicycle lift in the city of Trondheim, Norway, has provided cyclists with a little boost to the top of a steep hill in the historical part of town since the mid-1990s. 90% of the 30,000 students use their bicycles as their main source of transportation. This fact is slightly surprising because the city’s geography is anything but flat. In an effort to promote cycling, the city has invested roughly NOK 20 million ($3.2 million) over the past 20 years to create a cohesive network of bicycle infrastructure in the city.
