Aqua Creation by Ayala Serfaty

Ayala is the founder of Aqua Creations, along with her husband Albi. Together they create beautiful furniture, lighting and sculpture made of hand-dyed silk and other materials on a metal frame. The pieces, which have an other-wordly quality, are inspired on sea creatures and plants. The material tissue that serves as the surface of her lighting objects is a combination of clear polymer web and glass veins, and looks like a fine membrane that enwraps them. Serfaty called this a’spoma’, a term that in ancient greek means the physical body, with all its biological and vital dimensions.
