Marni Boutique, Aoyama by Sybarite

Like a modern temple Marni Aoyama plays with texture and light on a large scale. The use of shuttered concrete and shiny fabrics for the walls and a polished concrete floor containing interlaced and randomly scattered sections of marble define various areas of the store.

The walls are punctured with a series of bespoke display cases of varying finishes (leather, plastic, fibreglass) for the display of shoes, lingerie and bags. These units have their own integral lighting and serve as a rich contrast to the concrete floor and walls. The fluid stainless steel rails carry the ready-to-wear collections and glide up the grand staircase to a curvaceous and separate shoe display room with its own floating polished steel ceiling cloud hovering above.

The curved walls and the stepped displays are finished in a high gloss Grey lacquer, Pantone.
Meandering parallel to the wall is the hanging garment rail that emerges out of a whole cut-out in the floor near the window. The rail swoops majestically around the space and over the threshold leading to the anti-fitting room area and back down to meet the floor at the end of the curved wall.

The color palette of the shop is mainly kept within the Grey scales with warm natural wood colors as the base and the rich contrast of the mirror polished stainless steel.
