Detail.MGX by Dan Yeffet
The Belgian rapid-prototyping firm Materialise has spun off a creative division called MGX whose goal it is to push the envelope of RP and to get artists to explore it as a medium.
The piece above, called Detail.MGX, is created by Israeli designer Dan Yeffet. The lampshade is made with the unmistakable pattern of a fingerprint. He stretched his print around a sphere, its unique swirls becoming channels through which light would shine.
