Nature Poem, a Residential, Business and Commercial building by Mass Studies

A residential, business and commercial building, Nature Poem was a project in which the initial consensus that Mass Studies Architects had. The consensus was that the each unit of the residential, office and commercial space shall be given a unique character as befits the lifestyle of the locale, Seoul’s glitzy Cheongdam-dong. In line with the principle, some new and unfamiliar attempts were made (also in agreement with the building owner), such as increasing the height in selected levels and differentiating the sections within one unit.

In this project, the model house was an excellent and ruthless indicator of the potential problems of the double-skin facade, both in terms of construction and management. The ease of cleaning the space was tested by calling in a cleaning crew to the model house.

Upon completion, Nature Poem is being filled with different types of individuals and businesses: coffee shop, jewelry shop, flower shop, art gallery, dentist’s, beauty clinic, interior designer, web company, and residents. Indeed, the tenants of this building are many and varied. As expected in a locale where there seems to an invisible guideline that says, “Quality is our pride,” each tenant decorates his space with character.
