When Art Meets Science: Nano-Explosions

This spectacular image of “Nano-Explosions” won first prize in this year’s “Science as Art” contest. Fanny Beron, a student from the École Polytechnique de Montréal used a color-enhanced electron scanning micrograph to record the explosion that happened when a magnetic nanowire array (CoFeb) was overloaded. The result is a beautiful yet apocalyptic artwork.

this information i believe is incorrect. I do not have the popular science w/ me but i know it was a wire that overflowed or filled but there was no explosion. those are just growths and the person who did it just did a computer imaging to color it

If you do not have popular science “w/” you, then you have less credibility than the provider of this photograph.
