Diane von Fürstenberg Studio – NYC by WORK Architecture Company
This building in New York City’s Meatpacking district serves as the new headquarters for Diane von Furstenberg Studio, a fashion design company. Set within a pair of old buildings in the Meatpacking District, this project is realized by WORK Architecture Company. It includes offices and design studios for the fashion company, a showroom, a ground-floor store, and a “diamond” penthouse for meetings.

The project retains the landmarked facades of two existing buildings, behind which a new six-story structure has been built. The building houses the company’s New York store, a 5,000 SF showroom, design and administrative offices and an executive suite.

A grand stairway acts like a shaft of light from the roof to all of the floors and unifies the diverse program. The stair’s guardrail, strung with Swarovski crystals, inspired WORK to dub it a “stairdelier.”

This is fabulous! Way to go Lisa Parker! I’m so proud of you. I’d love to visit you here one day – maybe even meet the famous designer – who by the way is one of my favorite designers!
