House in Pousos, Portugal by Bak Gordon Architect
This is a two levels house constructed by Portuguese Architect Bak Gordon occupies an unlevelled terrain, bringing just one level to the street front side.
The house occupies a longitudinal band centred in the plot, that defines to main gardens – one at the entrance and plain; the other one, near the scarp and facing the city. when arriving, only four volumes appear, welded together with a full straight lower level. this operation allow us to diminish the impact of the 700m2 construction area, and contributes to the organization of the house program. the four volumes also define several outside spaces that enhances the house living.

Hi,
I will confess that visually I prefer a more classic style.
From what I read, what mostly got my attention was the ceilings’ height, something that I appreciate since nowadays, homes have really low ceilings.
Fortunately I live in a hold house with relatively high ones.
Kind regards,
José

[...] Designed with grace and precision by Portuguese architect Bak Gordon, this modern home located in the heart of Pousos, is all about smooth and simple design that draws from the modern architecture principles of using simple cubical structures. Created as four separate blocks that are integrated into one large unit, the home sits a level above the street that surrounds it and sports an inviting staircase that leads you inside. The interiors also have an unassuming look with flowing white walls and the complemented beauty of a dark wooden flooring. A streamlined pool and green patio just add to charm further. An amazing dream home. – via [...]
