Solar Forest Concept by Neville Mars

The Solar Forest concept from Neville Mars is a crafty design solution for charging electric vehicles and generating solar energy in previously underused parking lots. Instead of having parking lots filling the urban landscape, the Solar Forest offers shade, free EV charging, solar energy generation while simultaneously greatly improving the appearance of the urban landscape.
The solar forest has trees that are composed of photovoltaic leaves, which is responsible of collection solar power. Each of the trees’ trunks has a power outlet available for use in order to charge up an electric vehicle. Aside from charging, the photovoltaic leave also provides shades to ever car and its users while charging.

Awesome – I love this idea, I only hope that we get to a point now whereby we are not using oil and petrol for our cars. I’m thinking a few more leaps are needed to then facilitate great ideas such as this one.
Glad I came across this – cheers.

we are starting an international standard eco-friendly resort & spa on the outskirts of Bangalore, India. We have seen your unique solar forest car park area in the internet. We will be enthusiastic to install the same in our proposed parking lot at a later date in 2011. At this point of time I need your assistance to make an assessment of the extent of land required, number of cars that can be parked in one acre land (43560sft) and the cost for supply and installation, elivery time, name & address of the vendor. Even earlier We had sent you mail but could not receive your response. Hence please send the above details without fail to us. We shall be much obliged.
