Boid, Interaction Toy by Klaas van der Molen

Boid, is an interaction toy designed by Klaas van der Molen. Placed in close proximity with each other Boids will interact, flash or change brightness, in a synchronized pattern.

The spheres have integrated sensors that detect other Boids, and overall ambient light, and adjust their brightness accordingly. Alone a Boid will react to ambient illumination, but put together with others they display intriguing flows and patterns. Says Klaas, “The Boid is also a social product. It can bring Boid-owners together to interact and unfold even more mystical patterns.”
