IRO Prefab by Mira Yung
IRO Prefab is the work of industrial designer Mira Yung, which has been designed considering the need for low impact sustainable homes. The IRO can be fabricated locally or can be shipped to the site via a single standard 20 feet shipping container.

The IRO features a hexagonal shape that allows the occupants to add more IRO modules to form a community that can share resources. The unique design of the modules facilitates easy customization and the addition of photovoltaic panels and rainwater harvesting systems for energy and water.
The exterior triangular panels provide movable shading and privacy guards. Sliding doors for the entrance and roof garden save space to allow more activity inside. Water and electricity can be connected to the grid or accessory exterior cisterns can be added to supplement water needs by collecting rainwater. As small urban home, electricity not generated by /Iro/ must be tapped from the city. The urban lifestyle does not require the usual home appliances where personal services can be obtained—for example, laundry and dining. The kitchen permits simple cooking only as it is suited to the lifestyle of urbanites who may tend to dine out more often. /Iro/ offers a cozy environment to work and sleep.

I’m here by mistake. I started reading and I should tell you that your site is great. You are writing so many interesting things. I disagree with many of them, but it’s ok. I will probably visit your blog more often. I would like to use your words on my own blog. Can I?May I? – Magda
