Moebius House by Tony Owen Partners

Integrating the natural landscape, Tony Owens Partners’ Moebius House is a exemplary piece of micro-design, which aims at minimizing the impact of a building onto the micro-climate of its environment. A modeling software is used to respond to every change in the design and optimize steel efficiency.

The awareness of the landscape when setting up a structure is brought by its basic solar design, maximizing natural cooling and shading. The structural foundations are also designed to provide insulation, rainwater drainage, electrical, plumbing in an effective use of space.

Folding and twisting the space allowed to create view opportunities and smooth changes of level.

“The house has a fluidity of space which is a direct result of having a strong relationship with the surrounding landscape,” says Owen.
