Wideshortslimlong by Anrealage

Kunihiko Morinaga is a conceptual Japanese fashion designer, better known as Anrealarge, understand: “real, unreal and age”. His 2010-11 Autunm/Winter collection entitled Wideshortslimlong was released last month in Tokyo.

I am completely stunned by the distorted outfits from t-shirts and jeans to dresses and pants. The wide-short spoke distorts the average height of a Japanese person by 250% (width) and 70% (length), while the slim-long one distorts by 80% (width) and 150% (length).

Humour or reaction to fashion industry, I leave the interpretation yours. Either way, Anrealarge doesn’t fail to challenge our notions of fashion. Details are brought out with an incredible attention: even labels and hangars are distorted accurately.

The selling of the pieces is already started in Mitsubai Tokyo store.
