“Taxi Elephant” Sculpture, by Benjamin Shine

British artist Benjamin Shine created the Taxi Elephant, inspired by glossy black cabs. Chrome detailed, the structures has headlamps as eyes and shows a yellow taxi sign on his head, that illuminates at various times, day and night, powered by a solar-panel.

Taxi Elephant is a member of the elephant family, the contribution from the artist to the charity showcasing the Elephant Parade London 2010 to represent one of the most endangered species: the Asian elephant population has been divided by ten during the past century.

The Elephant Parade counts 260 painted sculptures located all across London. They will remain for public viewing from May to July.
