“Nothing,” No Screw No Glue Office by Joost van Bleiswijk Studio
Nothing commercial creative agency have asked Studio Joost van Bleiswijk to create their new office. Nothing could have been a better name to come up with a modification of waste and low cost materials into a durable, timeless office design. Designer Joost van Bleiswijk discussed with art director Alrik Koudenburg the use of cardboard to do the complete interior, but with a grandeur that suits this award winning company.

Joost van Bleiswijk explains more:
Using the now well known adopted technique No Screw, No Glue, that made me known through out the design world, I started to create three main volumes into one space. A boardroom, a grand office and a library. The use of the No Screw, No Glue technique on a scale I never explored before and its strong lines, allowed me to apply details, volumes and furniture that would make the space into one total concept. Using over 500 sq m of CNC cut cardboard left me with over 1500 element that did slot together with the need of neither screws nor glue…
I included all the elements of a classic office space, such as a coffee corner, boardroom, creative space, working tables, storage space, book cabinet, brainstorm area and so on and made them into a complete design. By creating a variety of spaces within the whole space, the perfect spot to do the work that needs to be done can always be found. By using the same principle and the recognizable, monumental and ornamental design style that is so typical for my designs, I turned the office design into one single piece. As the world of advertising is an ever changing and fast world, I created a timeless space, with my recognizable and visible love for classic lines and styles.
The monumental piece allows the placement of items that are needed to work in the office.
The result is a peaceful decor that inspires and provides a homelike atmosphere.
