Leaf Launches World’s Highest Resolution Backs, 80MP

Leaf announced two new medium format backs, the Leaf Aptus-II 12 and the Aptus-II12R (with internal rotating sensor)—at 80MP they are the world’s highest resolution digital camera backs. The price: $32,000. The pixels: 80 million, the most of any camera back to date.
Working closely with our sensor manufacturer, we developed a full frame, medium format, 80MP CCD sensor, measuring 53.7 x 40.3 mm, providing the ability to record the finest detail, eliminating the need to use cumbersome multi-shot solutions. On the Leaf Aptus-II 12R you can change from landscape to portrait orientation with a simple turn of the Leaf Verto internal sensor rotation dial. Enjoy the comfort of keeping the camera upright, rotating just the sensor.
