Nurai Island Resort by Studio Dror

Abu Dhabi has many island developments in the works. But few will be as sparsely populated, or as pricey, as Nurai Island, the name developers have given to one of the area’s most private and upmarket communities.

The 130,000-square-meter island is about to be transformed into an achingly glamorous and luxurious resort and exclusive private residential estate, comprised of one boutique luxury hotel resort with 60 suites, 31 beachfront estates and 36 water villas. The project is a collaboration between New York based Studio Dror, led by Dor Benshetrit.

Tigerlily Boutique Hotel, Edimbourg
Edinburgh’s hippest boutique hotel, Tigerlily opened in June 2006. It is the meeting place for the Edinburgh jet set, food lovers and hedonist.

This authentic classified building with perfect neo-classical symmetry is on the illustrious George Street. And even if this new establishment could be called postmodern for its anachronistic daring and extravagant polychromatic fabrics from the Designers Guild, it still maintains its Georgian underpinnings with its high ceilings, sculpted cornices, and oak woodwork.

The Keating Hotel by Pininfarina

The new ultra-chic Keating Hotel, which sports a Ferrari-red interior, looks like it’s going 225 mph standing still.
No wonder. It’s the first lodging property that Italian automobile designer Pininfarina, famous for the Ferrari and other fast cars, including Maserati, Jaguar, Alfa Romeo and Fiat Spider, has ever put its stamp on.
But it won’t be the last. Edward Kaen, whose family owns the historic downtown building that houses the 35-room boutique hotel and lounge, and Paolo Pininfarina, vice chairman of Turin, Italy-based Pininfarina, are taking their act on the road.
