Deliberately austere. The space is designed to offer solitude, relaxation and to help the occupant focus. With the only elements of the cabin being a window, day bed, roof-light and shelving, the Read-Nest provides a sanctuary to spend quality time with some good books.

Sommarnöjen houses are 15 square meter prefab beach cabins designed by Sommarnöjen, a Stockholm-based company commissioned by the trio; Sandell Sandberg Architect, Kjellander + Sjober Architect Office, and Tham & Videgard Hansson Architects. The functional design allows for various ‘cabins’ to be integrated together allowing for a multitude of uses including guest houses, studios, offices or even saunas! Sommarnöjen means ‘Summer Enjoyment’ and from the photo selection provided, the reason is clear!!

The mini-houses are built by hand using local and sustainable materials and outfitted with fixtures and furniture by companies like Electrolux, Dux, and Kasthall.

Spanish architecture firm based in Madrid, Selgas Cano has created their own office space that offers an unobstructed view of its forest surroundings through one continuous wall of windows. The shutters over the clear roof are retractable and allow for natural light to pour into the space.
Ceilings are both low and high, depending on the retraction of the roof and on which part of the room you’re in.

The Sosnowski Residence in Tempe, Arizona was designed by the architects at Phoenix-based Chen Suchart Studio. This contemporary house blends beautifully with its city environment, entering as a sleek glass box suspended within a modern, bold black frame.

IM.house, Japan build by atelier A5T is a three-story home in a north-western suburb of Tokyo is built on a steep slope. The lower part of the building (open living/dining/kitchen area and entry hall) is surrounded on all four sides with windows which divide the concrete foundation and the upper structure built with steel and wood framing.
Prayer & Meditation Pavilion by TAM Associati Architect
The Prayer and Meditation Pavilion known for its platonic exterior and dramatic interior space has been build by TAM architettura.
The pavilion is basically two cubes, tangent to each other on one face and shifted from each other about the distance of the half of one side. Slots and peeling away of the outer walls create access points to each cube from opposite sides, across a shallow pool.
