New York restaurateur John Mooney has redefined garden with a rooftop that is now a home to melons, mint, garbanzo, tomatoes, lettuce, and much more. . He is the first chef in the U.S. to grow all of his produce on a rooftop farm. Their produce is grown in sixty vertical tower hydroponic systems, designed and engineered by Future Growing LLC., of Orlando, Florida. Unlike traditional gardening methods, hydroponics uses a pH balanced ionic mineral based water solution that is pumped through a central tower that comes in contact with the plants’ roots. The Tower Garden™ uses a closed system technology to recycle 100% of the nutrients and water minimizing waste.

Two glass carafes shaping a human heart when joined together. The heart is a reminder for the generally underestimated but essential role health plays in our lives.
In order to prevent cardiovascular and blood pressure diseases we have to start with the root of the problem, our daily consume of food and beverage.
A wine decanter is built together with a water carafe. A half half coloured mix of red and white. Red wine stands for low pressure, water stands for high pressure.
The organic heart shape has been developed into two different, stand-alone objects according to the natural division of ventricles.

Kim Neil, created these rad Pantone chip cookies for her clients Christmas gifts after nabbing some great Pantone chip tins at Blick’s Art Supply. Kim is a freelance designer and illustrator and she created these fabulous Pantone cookies using her collection of Pantone chips. Inspired by this fun Pantone tin, Kim worked with Royal icing to create the exact colors and even broke out her luster dust to create metallic “chip” cookies. Once the icing set, she used an edible marker to add the Pantone numbers.

Designer Pablo Matteoda from Argentina has come up with the coolest tea infuser. Simply fill the Sharky Tea Infuser with loose leaf tea, and let it float around a cup of hot water. During the waiting process, you can see the colour of your tea create a beautiful effect.


Hope to see this smart design concept go into production soon! The Sharky Tea Infuser won third prize at the Designboom Beyond Silver competition.

“Tulip” wine glass by James Nash is pretty simple, and therein lies the genius. The wine, currently M&S, Mark and Spenser stores, comes in a single-serving plastic wine glass with a removable top similar to what one would find on the top of a yoghurt container. It’s peeled off and the fresh wine is consumed.
Tulip looks like it’s available in red, white, and murky orange flavors. You can currently only get it in the UK and Europe, with promises of US distribution “in the near future.”
