The Harper Sofa

domeau_peres_tati_haricot.jpg

Publishers Domeau & Peres are currently producing a limited series of furniture created for the famous French movie Mon Oncle by Jacques Tati made in 1958. The “Harper” sofa is inspired by Mallet Stevens and is reproduced with extreme fidelity to the original. It’s an ironic blast from the past because for Tati, the modern house from Mon Oncle was actually criticism of ultra-design and overconsumption.

Lumen Tree by Adam Frank

lumen copy.jpg

The Lumen Tree by Adam Frank is an oil lamp which projects the shadow of a metal tree on the wall. As the flame flickers, the shadow moves around organically. The tree is made of stainless steel and polyethylene. It’ s a bit like having a virtual Christmas tree in your room. It’s ok for us as long as the X-mas gifts are for real.

kn.jpgThis amazing knife holder, designed by Raffaele Iannello, allows you to store your kitchen knives in an effigy dedicated to whomever you want to stab. The Voodoo display holds five stainless steel kitchen knives, which are included, in a rather uncommon and radical way. It should be noted that plastic casings house every knife to prevent blade exposure.

Hannspree is a Taiwanese company that makes televisions and LCD screens. They come in all shapes: apples, basketballs, but also animals and firetrucks. Even the remote control matches the monitor. We think it’s a wonderful idea because a regular TV is not a very beautiful object.
