Giorgia Zanellato introduced a collection of six vases that use mirrors to draw attention to the role of the flowers placed within. Made in borosilicate glass, powder-coated aluminum and mirrored stainless steel, the reflections, or refractions, range from simplest enhancement of a flower stem to a complex kaleidoscope effect.

“Narciso is a project which started with the intention of designing some vases, focusing on the functionality of the vase as an object. But what is the function of a vase? They are used to display flowers. Narciso is a collection of six different vases which use mirrors to draw attention to the role of the flowers. Mirrors are investigated in all their aspects, from the simplest reflection to the most complex one. In this way each vase shows flowers from a different point of view. They’re made in borosilicate glass, powder-coated alluminium and mirrored stainless steal.“

Studio Dror designed the Vase of Phases series for Rosenthal. Before the porcelain vase is shattered, it’s protected in the interior with rubber so that the pieces retain the shape of impact. Then it’s redipped in porcelain.

“Applied Physics,” Cooking Utensils by Acquacalda

The duo Federica Castagno and Sara Petrucci of Acquacalda have presented their new collection called “Applied Physics,” a range of kitchen gadgets based on the laws of physics.
The collection also includes a self-hydrating plant pot, a glass with a measuring reservoir, a bowl for weighing dry food in water and a vase that indicates the water level inside through its handle.

“One For All, All For One,” fill four glasses simultaneously.

“Archimede’s Scale,” a simple graduated bowl on first take, also weighs ingredients when immersed in water; measurements on the exterior indicate buoyancy.

“Vasco,” Allows the passage of water between two vessels.

“Communicating Vase” – Vase for cut flowers: the addition to the side of a ceramic vase of a transparent tube allows it to “communicate” constantly the level of water remaining inside it.

“Mix In Glass” – Glass with dispenser for the preparation of cocktails: the graduated cap has a double drilling, a hole for the drinking straw and one for the passage of air/fluid.

The vase has transformed from being a preserving vessel into an active resuscitating object that keeps your flower alive and kicking. The vase has capillary tubes that suck water upwards toward the flower. In this way, this vase will not only beautify your place through keeping the flowers alive, it will also limits your effort of changing flowers from time to time.

it’s amazing what you can do with a simple glove. The materials are simple: it’s just a chromed support, a plastic base and a medical glove that change into a vase. It’s really nice transformation to bear flowers.
