The luxury and ecology ‘Alila Villas Uluwatu’ in Bali is a sustainable resort on the southern coast. Singapore-based architects Woha created the Balinese-inspired villas with open-air structures. Guests can adjust the flow of winds and breezes by sliding glass doors. Airy wooden cabanas and relaxation pavilions spray out over the Indian Ocean and look alike cubic Bauhaus nests.
The Aptos Retreat was designed for a San Francisco couple with six children – with ages ranging from high school to college. The property is located inland from the beach town of Aptos, California in the Santa Cruz Mountains, near the city of Santa Cruz. The 20-acre site has ocean and mountain views and is about five miles inland from the
Pacific Ocean. The family desired a setting that would be casual and rustic, and that would incorporate sustainable features to minimize the home’s carbon footprint. Diverse activities were part of the design program, including; partying, cooking, tanning, swimming, archery, horseshoes, gardening, and wood-splitting.
The project incorporates the following sustainable features:
-Solar thermal system for domestic hot water, the pool, and the hydronic radiant floor.
-Reclaimed barn wood siding for all exterior walls
- Corten rusted steel, a high-content recycled product, for the roof of the main house, and for the walls and roof of the barn.
-High performance windows.
Smart-ologic Corian Living by Karim Rashid is exposed during the Milan Design Week 2010, at the Corian design store. Commissioned by DuPont Corian, the American designer has created creamsicle cave-like rooms, with the intention to create a eco-friendly home concept.
The design is one of soft organic shapes in a morphic material, creating a sensual space that echoes the digital world we live in, calling to an alternative way of experiencing home.
NBBJ, in collaboration and partnership with CCDI, have designed the Hangzhou Sports Park: A vibrant, pedestrian-centric sports and recreation development located in the midst of Hangzhou’s new urban environment. Situated on the Qian Tang riverfront opposite of the new Central Business District, and encompassing a site of approximately 400,000 square meters, the sports park is seen as an opportunity for creating picturesque and sustainable public spaces that are often elusive in the newly constructed urbanism of China. This new place making will be accomplished while intelligently balancing the long-term commercial viability of the sports development.
Cube Magic Charger by Zheng Weixi’s is just a concept for now but I hope this becomes a reality soon and we show our love for the Mother Earth.

StudioDosi has made a green proposition for the headquarters of the Province of Parma in Italy. The vegetation-covered array of green buildings is a design encompassing extensive gardens. The living exoskeleton will cover a real building, provide shade and natural ventilation. Wind towers also help warm air to escape.
Philadelphia Zoo displays a very special exhibition called ”Creatures of Habitat”, a Gazillion-Piece Animal Adventure” which shows endangered species throughout the work of world-renowned Lego artist Sean Kenney.
It took him over one year to complete the 34 animals, being the largest project he’s undertaken. Indeed the sculptures of birds, frogs, tamarinds, and a polar bear feature together about 95,000 Lego pieces.

A noticed solar-powered mega-yacht has just come on the market, the luxurious WHY 37×24. Created by Monaco-based yacht maker Wally in collaboration with Paris-based fashion house Hermes, it’s 37 meters long and 24 meters wide.
It has a swimming pool and is powered by a diesel-electric engine and 390 square meters of rooftop solar panels. Its hull design makes it requires less power at cruising speed than another boat of equal size. The engine and solar panels bring down the energy consumption by up to 30 percent for propulsion and 50 percent for generation.
