Druggie Lemurs of Madagascar
Drug use happens in the animal world. The lemurs of Madagascar are millipede junkies. Who knew?

Octopus Escaping through a 1 inch Hole
Octopuses are highly intelligent and probably more intelligent than any other invertebrates. They have an amazing ability to squeeze through tiny crevices, cracks and holes. Observe this octopus sneak its way out of a 1 inch hole.

Belgian Polar Station

The Belgian government commissioned the IPF to design and construct a new research base in Antarctica, to become operational during the International Polar Year at the end of 2007. They will elaborate a science program and select the teams of scientists to do research on climate change and on sustainable development in the polar regions.
Polar energy and wind will be used to meet most energy requirements.
The Hottest Temperature on Earth

Scientists at Sandia National Laboratory generated temperatures greater than 2 billion degrees Kelvin, hotter than the interior of the sun. To achieve this, they used the “Z machine,” which produces incredibly hot plasmas. Follow the link for an in-depth explanation of this wonderful experiment. And to think I’m freezing my balls off in my apartment as I write this.

AntWorks

AntWorks was developed the by NASA Space Shuttle experiment to study animal life in space and test how ants successfully tunnel in microgravity. The Fascinations Ant Works allows you to study the behavior of ants in a unique, self-contained environment. Its special gel is full of nutrients specially formulated for the needs of the ant. Because the gel is clear, you can see tunnel architecture develop in 3-D.
From Earth To Mars In Three Hours

The US Government is currently working on a hyperspace engine that could allow interstellar space travel through other dimensions.
The hypothetical engine is based on a controversial theory about the structure of universe which could allow a spaceship to go from the Earth to Mars in three hours and journey to a star 11 light years away in just 80 days.
Oddball Object Circles Sun Beyond Neptune

A distant object named Buffy has been spotted circling the sun far beyond Neptune in a strange tilted orbit that is making some astronomers question how the outer reaches of the solar system formed.
Officially called 2004 XR 190 by the International Astronomical Union but code-named Buffy, the object is now about 58 times as far from the sun as Earth, and twice as far from the sun as Neptune.
At this distance from the heart of the planetary system, Buffy is considered a Kuiper Belt object, but an odd one, astronomers working in Canada, France and the United States said in a statement on Tuesday.
SkyScout By Celestron

Learn the mysteries of the sky with this SkyScout which can identify and locate any celestial object visible to the naked eye. Point the SkyScout at any bright star and it will instantly identify the object and guide you through the discovery of the sky.
Hundreds Of Auroras Detected On Mars

University of California-Berkeley physicists say auroras similar to Earth’s Northern lights are apparently commonplace on Mars. The physicists said the auroras on Mars aren’t due to a planet-wide magnetic field, but to patches of strong magnetic field in the planet’s crust, mostly in southern areas. The discovery of auroras on Mars teaches something about how and why they happen elsewhere in the solar system, including on Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
