’38,’ Pendant Light by Omer Arbel for Bocci
Designer Omer Arbel has designed a new collection for light brand 'Bocci' made of recycle glass. The pendant light features spheres of glasses suspended to semi-rigid copper cables forming irregular arcs floating in the air. The orbs comprises between four to six blown glass balls wherein inside three of them LED are inserted. Small plants can be insert in the rest of the cavities to form a harmonious illumination that united greenery, light and ecology.
LM Guest House, NY by Desai Chia Architecture
LM Guest House situated in upstate New York, celebrates the beauty of the surrounding landscape – embracing views through an all-glass facade magnify the spacious, open feel of the living areas. The high-performance glass facade was pre-fabricated off site, shipped in one container, and erected in two days. An innovative steel frame structure allows the roof to cantilever dramatically over the open living areas and bedroom. The residence engages sustainable design strategies including geothermal heating and cooling, radiant floors, motorized solar shading, photovoltaic panels, and rainwater harvesting.
MOS Floating House on Lake Huron in Ontario, Canada
The Floating House MOS Architects based on an island on Lake Huron is the intersection of a colloquial house typology with the fluctuating conditions of this unique place. The location on the Great Lakes has imposed complexities to the house’s fabrication and construction, as well as its relationship to site.
‘Port-a-Bach,’ Holiday Portable Container by Atelierworkshop Architects
Atelierworkshop Architects created this holiday portable container designed to be environmentally clean. It is an quick and easy transportation and installation to any orientation with minimal impact on site. The container features large internal storage cupboards and shelves, stainless steel kitchen and fittings, bathroom with open shower, sink, composting toilet. The interior fabric screen system gives the versatility of creating rooms within the large open living space: includes bunk beds, double bed room, dressing room, kitchen and bathroom.
Casa el Pangue in Chile by Elton + Leniz Architects
El Pangue Residence is built by local architects, Elton and Leniz located on a abrupt hillside facing the ocean. The house is organized with a central vertical circulation, connecting the 4 levels and 3 terraces. The lower level features the parking area connected to the upper levels by stairs. The main living area is on the third level, an open space with floor to ceiling windows which lead out onto a generous terrace where planters take the place of railings to allow an uninterrupted sea view. Villa Rieteiland-Oost has a facade entirely covered of wood paneling, on one side of the facade, they are applied horizontally while on the other side of the facade they are applied vertically. The spiral staircase on the outside fits entirely with the exterior of the facade and allows to access to the first floor from the outside of the house without having to go inside, which allows have some privacy. Fluiditic, Sculpture in Motion
Whitevoid is the result from a collaboration between WHITEvoid studio and Hyundai Design Center. The installation combines ball sculpture consisting of 12,000 translucent spheres with high-power laser projections. Graphical compositions emerges from the combination enabling their viewers to observe and interact with it from every point of view.

Shaped by human interactions, the molecules begin to swarm – aggregating and accumulating. They are constantly in motion, reacting and adapting with the people who seek to engage with the installation.

‘Fiet,’ Lighting Sculpture by Studio Toer
Fiet is an interactive light sculpture that visualizes the emotional impact of movement. The object is built out of hundreds of cones which emphasize the motion of the surface. Electrolux Design Lab presents top 100+ submissions
Over 100 design students were chosen out of 1 700 submissions to be presented among the best ideas in Electrolux Design Lab 2013. The concepts represent the Inspired Urban Living theme around the focus areas of Social Cooking, Natural Air and Effortless Cleaning. Some of the trends to be seen in this year’s competition are the rise of 3D printing technology, wearable appliance accessories and smart technology in social cooking.
Over 100 best ideas from 29 countries around the world can be seen on the Electrolux Design Lab website where the public can also vote for their favourite concepts. Best concepts chosen by Electrolux professionals and the public make it to the next stage of the competition and compete over the main prize of 5 000 Euros and a six-month paid internship at an Electrolux global design centre.
Heimplanet’s Wedge Tent

The Wedge by HEIMPLANET is an inflatable tent. The idea behind this concept were to lighten considerably the weight, aluminum-poled backpacking tents – 7.1 pounds (3.2 kg) in the case of the Wedge.

The collection of furniture was inspired by the designer’s great passion for traveling and exploring the world.

The collection features separate drawers which can be stacked in countless different configurations. The craftsmanship and detailing is simply sublime and calls for instant admiration. These pieces, though colourful and playful, evoke luxurious and sophisticated atmospheres, but at the same time they carry the dynamic vibe of modern nomads, that travel trough cities and continents without restrictions or boundaries.
