Elizabeth Lecourt uses maps to sculpt clothing. “Les Robes Geographiques” a line of map-wear which is not to be worn but to be watched and admired. This talented artist has pressed and ironed 60 pieces of unreal attire, mostly pleated dresses and button-down shirts made out of modern maps. The clothes are all made from paper maps folded and attached together in very traditional dress and shirt forms.

Mirror Watch by Cheuk Kee Lai

SDWorks, a commercial platform attached to the Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s School of Design now started to produce the Mirror Watch – a combination mirror/ LED watch by student designer Cheuk Kee Lai.

Karl Lagerfeld has presented “Chanel Perspex Briefcase,” an elegant and mostly black take on power suiting for Chanel that included this fantastically witty take on the working gal’s briefcase.

The transparent briefcase comes with slots to hold a purse, lipstick, sunglasses, iPod and other ladies’ stuff. We are not assuming it to be just a catwalk prop, so we might see the thing for real.

Louis Vuitton Stephen Sprouse Graffiti Party

Thursday night when Louis Vuitton paid tribute to the New York glamor punk with a triumvirate of events splashed with graffiti and Day-Glo. A cocktail party at the Greene Street store, where all manner of Sprousified LV merch was on display, including specially reissued Sprouse LV bags from 2001, was followed by a preview of “Rock On Mars,” an installation of original Sprouse memorabilia at Deitch Projects on Wooster Street.
