iCade Arcade Cabinet, a retro dock with old-style arcade joysticks and mashable buttons.

The patent describes a device that a “portable electronic device,” such as an iPhone or iPad could slip into, and offer a user “a plurality of input controls that may be actuated by a user while playing a game.” The illustrations that accompany the patent clearly show an iPhone-like device connecting to the accessory via a dock connector.

Walkstation by Steelcase; WorkSpace Treadmill for Computer Geeks

A good way to combine sports and work, in an unusual way; this big gadget, called a Walkstation, combines a usual computer workplace and a treadmill. The Walkstation is designed to encourage more movement by walking slowly at work. Apparently, the walkstation have the potential to increase energy expenditure and burn calories even when walking at a 1 mph rate.


Made by office furniture company Steelcase, the Walkstation is scheduled to make its formal debut next month for a reported price of $6,500.
