On occasion of the 52nd edition of the Salone del Mobile, Joost van Bleiswijk launched his new Construction Lamps collection for the renowned Dutch design label Moooi.
The Construction Lamps were presented at Moooi’s Milan exhibition: find your way home to Moooi’s ”unexpected welcome” and were accompanied by the current and new collection by, among others, Marcel Wanders, Studio Job and Nika Zupanc, shown in a setting of iconic, rich and colourfully dressed living quarters.
The lamps are inspired by metal factory constructions, electricity poles, and constructive elements.
This collection, like other designs from Joost, originate from his inventiveness and curiosity combined with expert skills and industrial tools.
The Construction Lamps are available in matt black and white combined with wood.

Katja Pettersson’s latest designs, the Sausage and the Bubble Gum Lamp were featured in the ‘’Glass Elephant’’ exhibition, Stockholm Design Week’s signature exhibition which ran from 5-9 February. The exhibition explores the properties of glass as a material and muse, and tells a story about the meeting of contrasts.
The Sausage and the Bubble Gum Lamp are based on basic assumptions we all have. ‘’Social agreements and information that we take in by our senses. But can you sense a taste by seeing a form?’’ Katja asked herself.
The Pinokio lamp, inspired by Pixar logo is a creation from team: Shanshan Zhou, Adam Ben-Dror and Joss Doggett. The lamp incorporates a webcam, microphone, mechanical iris, 2 servos and halogen globe and interacts with its users and traces its movements. But it can do more than merely follow your movements, the video reveals that it recognizes sound and even situations where a person intentionally hides from its camera. Zhou, Ben-Dror, and Doggett set out to give the lamp a broad range of behavior, and that “personality” is clearly on display.
