MD4 200 by Microdrone GmbH
md4 200 in size and appearance may resemble to a toy – and the fact that it can squirt a jet of water on to unsuspecting people’s heads may add to that impression.
md4 200 is made in Germany by microdrone GmbH. It reach an altitude of 400m and stay in the sky for 30 minutes. A remote-controlled and almost silent miniature helicopter, the “Microdrone” can act as a police commander’s eye in the sky, capturing images with both a video and an infra-red camera and instantly transmitting it to operators on the ground up to 500 yards away. Barely the size of a dustbin lid – around two feet across – the tiny drone is nonetheless armed to the hilt with crime-fighting technology, including a squirt-gun which can fire jets of a liquid called “SmartWater” which can be identified by police.

Magnetic Movie, Semiconductor film by Ruth Jarman and Joe Gerhardt shot at the NASA Space Sciences Laboratory
Magnetic Movie, Semiconductor have taken the magnificent scientific visualizations of the sun and solar winds conducted at the Space Sciences Laboratory and Semiconducted them. Ruth Jarman and Joe Gerhardt of Semiconductor were artists-in-residence at SSL. Combining their in-house lab culture experience with formidable artistic instincts in sound, animation and programming, they have created a magnetic magnum opus in nuce, “a tour de force” of a massive invisible force brought down to human scale, and a “very most beautiful thing.” Take a look at this spectacular special effects video.

DHL: Gridlock
The areas either side and between the escalators were covered with giant bird’s-eye view of Hong Kong highway jam-packed with stationary traffic to demonstrate DHL’s inexplicable ability to deliver on time regardless of conditions. This outdoor piece dominated MTR escalators across Hong Kong.

Look at the girl in the picture, she is planting some tomatoes in little corner between two roads in the middle of Tokyo. Isn’t it amazing? She cares about that little place of land lost in Tokyo’s immensity, and what is more amazing is that she doesn’t seem worried about people or dogs destroying her tomatoes and her lavender.
As industries and landscape continue to expand, I’m sure this will soon become a necessity, not only in Japan, but all over the industrialized world. Let’s hope that the vehicle fumes, asbestos from brakes, and stray lubricant don’t give the tomatoes a bad taste.
Jeffery Broadhurst’s Shack at Hinkle Farm

This lovely little shack is built by Architect Jeffery Broadhurst for his family in a 27-acre mountaintop property in West Virginia.
Built by himself, friends and neighbors, using off-the-shelf materials. Board-and-batten siding and a standing-seam, terne-coated steel roof sit atop a wood platform. A ladder unhitches and swings down, providing access to the entry door. Oil lamps provide light and a woodstove heats the space. Hand-powered, gravity-fed plumbing system, and water is heated using the woodstove. Rainwater from the roof supplies the outdoor shower. The front wall is an overhead-acting aluminum and glass garage door, opening to a cantilevered deck.
