Trapeze Table Light by Peter Stathis for Joby

Award winning designer Peter Stathis has created a fascinating lighting called the Trapeze LED Table Light for JOBY.
At first glance the most striking element of the lamp are the heavy bulbs at the extremities of the arms of the lamp. The dual arms glide smoothly in a 3-axis range – the bulbs are perfectly balanced counterweights. Stop moving the arms and the lamp is frozen in position thanks to the weights, not a sticky ball joint. We tried it.Little details surprise and delight; the aluminum body has a rubberized finish that’s pleasant to the touch and one corner of the base is angled up to hold the arms – which is where two lamp parts connect easily and intuitively – they snap together instantly with no visible wires. In sum, Trapeze is a striking sculpture piece and a highly functional tool that combines tech and touch in a new way.
